Krungsri Completes Acquisition of Remaining 50% of
Charter Capital in SFinance (Formerly SHB Finance)
Tokyo, October 16, 2026 - Bank of Ayudhya Public Company Limited (Krungsri), a
consolidated subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (MUFG) and MUFG Bank,
Ltd. (MUFG Bank), has completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% of the charter
capital in SFinance Consumer Credit Finance Company Limited (SFinance), formerly
known as SHBank Finance Company Limited (SHB Finance), from Saigon-Hanoi
Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB Bank).
This marks the completion of the transaction announced on August 26, 2021, under
which Krungsri would acquire 100% of the charter capital in SFinance in two phases.
Krungsri completed the acquisition of the first 50% of SFinance’s charter capital in May
2023 after obtaining the relevant regulatory approvals. Following the fulfillment of all
conditions for the second acquisition, including receipt of the relevant approvals from the
State Bank of Vietnam and the Japanese Financial Services Agency, Krungsri completed
the acquisition of the remaining 50% of SFinance’s charter capital on October 15, 2026.
As a result, Krungsri now holds 100% of SFinance’s charter capital, and SFinance has
become a wholly owned subsidiary of Krungsri. The company has changed its name from
SHBank Finance Company Limited to SFinance Consumer Credit Finance Company
Limited and is now operating under the new name.
The completion of the acquisition and the name change represent an important milestone
in strengthening collaboration between Krungsri and SFinance and supporting the
continued growth of the consumer finance business in Vietnam.
Building on the strong collaboration established to date, Krungsri will continue to leverage
its consumer finance expertise together with SFinance’s established business platform
in Vietnam to further expand financial services that meet customers’ diverse needs.
MUFG and MUFG Bank will further support SFinance’s sustainable growth and
contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
