The programme has surpassed over 210 graduates following the graduation of its fourth cohort as the company continues to support local talent and hospitality education in the country
Cairo, Egypt – 19 October –
Marriott International continues to support the future of Egypt’s hospitality sector by supporting and creating career opportunities for local nationals. Since its launch in 2018, the company’s Tahseen hospitality education and training programme, developed in partnership with Capital University and the Professional Development Foundation, has helped equip more than 300 Egyptians with industry-relevant skills and long-term career pathways, reinforcing the company's commitment to developing hospitality talent in Egypt. The programmes latest graduation celebrated 46 graduates.
“Egypt remains an important market for Marriott International, and we believe that investing in local talent is essential to the long-term success of both our business and the country's tourism industry," said Ahmed Hozaien, Regional Vice President for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Egypt, Marriott International. "Through Tahseen, we are helping create opportunities for young Egyptians to develop meaningful careers in hospitality. We are proud of the impact the program has delivered since its launch and inspired by the success of its graduates both in Egypt and across the region."
Tahseen combines academic learning with practical hotel experience to prepare students for careers in hospitality. Since its inception, more than 336 students have participated in the program, with 118 students currently enrolled across three active cohorts. Recruitment is underway for the eighth cohort, which is expected to welcome an additional 50 students.
Many Tahseen alumni have gone on to build successful careers across Marriott International properties and the wider hospitality industry throughout the Middle East.
Among them is Ibrahim Reda, a member of Tahseen's inaugural graduating class, who has since become Multi Property Sales Executive at JW Marriott Cairo & Renaissance Cairo Mirage City Hotels. He credits the program with helping to lay the foundation for his professional journey
.
“Joining Tahseen was a turning point in my career. It gave me firsthand exposure to the hospitality industry, helped me develop practical skills, and introduced me to mentors who inspired me along the way. The experience played an important role in shaping the professional I am today.”
Other alumni have also advanced into leadership and specialist roles across the region, including Mira Magdy Shehata, Learning & Development Coordinator at Sheraton Riyadh, Radwa Sherif, Demi Chef de Partie at Renaissance Cairo Mirage City Hotel, and Farah Essam, Assistant Event Manager at The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa, Katameya Dunes. These alumni achievements underscore the value of combining academic education with hands-on industry experience.
Tahseen also supports Marriott International's sustainability and social impact platform, Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction, specifically its focus on Empower Through Opportunity, which aims to help people gain the skills and access they need to prosper.
As of Q3 2026, Marriott’s portfolio in Egypt encompasses 19 properties and nearly 8,000 rooms in operation across eight brands,
each serving differentiated experiences across traveller segments and travel purposes. The brands currently present in the country include The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton Hotels, Le Meridien, Westin Hotels and Renaissance Hotels.
